Lexie Powell

Lexie Powell is a dancer, teacher and choreographer with a passion for education & the arts. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Her degree emphasized both performance and choreography with a focus on modern technique. She has had the pleasure of performing in works by Penny Hutchinson, Susan Haines, and Pam Kuntz of WWU and Natscha Greenwalt of Coriolis Dance. Lexie joined Vytal Movement Dance in 2016 and also performed in a number of original works under the direction of Founding Director Vincas Greene. 

Lexie is also a pharmacist and assistant professor at Washington State University's College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences where she leads a laboratory course for third year pharmacy students and researches the role of creativity in healthcare education. She is a firm believer in the interconnectedness of science and art and strives to highlight the importance of both in each of her roles. 

She took on the role of Artistic Director of Vytal Movement Dance at the start of 2023 where a key goal of hers has been fostering collaboration among artists and continuing to help grow the dance community in Spokane.
