Malina Davis
Malina was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and began dancing at the age of 4. She began her training at The Dance Emporium and continued on to Studio Inc. Dance Academy. Malina is trained in the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater and was a competitive dancer for six years. She furthered her dance education at Western Washington University where she studied contemporary dance, choreography, pedagogy, anatomy for dancers, functional alignment, and dance history. Last summer she had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Italy and dance for two weeks at Spazio Seme in Arezzo. She spent this time dancing with individuals from all over the world in the style of contact improvisation. Her most recent works were part of the WWU BFA Capstone Dance Concert. She performed her BFA solo "In.Sight", choreographed by Cena Bean and showcased her capstone group piece "Viva Las Vagus [Nerve]". She graduated in June with her BFA in dance is excited to be back in Spokane to train with Vytal and teach at local studios! She will also be looking for work in the healthcare field as she wants to get her master's in pathology assistance in the future. Malina would love to dance for Disney someday as well as in musicals because she loves the entertainment side of dance. When not in the studio or on stage, you can find Malina with her family, enjoying an iced coffee (or two), and playing with her rescue pup, Kenai!
